March Moments: Celebrating Special Days at Boclair Care Home

At Boclair Care Home, we try to celebrate as many special days as possible for our residents no matter how big or small. We believe in providing inclusive activities and events at our care home in Glasgow to enhance an individual's quality of life within our person-centred approach to care.

The month of March was full of key dates that all of the residents and staff members got involved in. 

If you are eager to know what residents at Boclair get up to, below are some events we celebrated this past month. 

Every Celebration Celebrated

Every birthday at the home is special to us and we make sure they are celebrated with a fish supper, a dance and a tipple. In March we had three birthdays! Anne’s, Marion’s and Bert’s 90th birthday. As well as three birthdays, we also had a 61st wedding anniversary in our home. 

World Down Syndrome Day

On the 21st of March, Boclair Care Home’s staff and residents were encouraged to wear odd socks or wear the most outrageous pair they own to raise awareness of World Down Syndrome Day. WDSD is an international campaign to advocate for the rights, inclusion and well-being of individuals with down syndrome. 

Mother’s Day

At the end of March, we celebrated Mothering Sunday. All of our guests enjoyed the weekend of celebrations with Rory going the extra mile by making sure everyone had a handmade card each, as well as some flowers. 

Kindest Within Boclair

Each month we celebrate a value and March’s value was Kindest. All of our staff and residents voted for someone within the home to receive the kindness award and the winner was Paul! Paul has been recognised for going above and beyond, as well as always being kind!
