Memorable Moments in June
We have had a very exciting June here at Boclair Care Home in Bearsden, Glasgow, with lots of highlights that we are delighted to share.
Glad to Care Week
This Glad to Care Week, we have welcomed lots of friends to Boclair and have had many celebrations in recognition of our wonderful care staff. Our celebrations included garden games, 'Clootie Dumpling' baking, wellbeing activities, gardening, listening to 70s music, a visit from Mark Wallbank the Magician, and a garden party with families, refreshments, and fun in the sun.
To ensure our staff knows just how valued and appreciated they are, we arranged picnic hampers full of goodies for our staff to help themselves to as well as pamper hampers to go into both the male and female staff rooms so they they can freshen up during this warm weather.
Enjoying the Sunshine
Our care home is welcoming many friends and family and we are quickly developing the nickname ‘Boclair Park’ as everyone finds the home and gardens relaxing and welcoming.
On the weekends we have been out in the garden, enjoying the sunshine and some refreshments with our residents and their loved ones and it has been the perfect environment for a catch-up.
At other times, are residents have enjoyed a spot of gardening, planting new flowers and shrubs, and ensuring our outdoor space is bright and beautiful.
Staff Member of the Month for May
At the start of each month, we award a 'staff member of the month' for the month prior and this is given to those that have displayed our values throughout their work.
We are delighted to give May's award to Marzena, who is an asset to Boclair. Marzena has a wealth of knowledge which she shares with the rest of the team and is very deserving of our values award for Trust. Congratualtions Marzena!
Cycle Around Millport
Boclair took part in the ‘Cycle around Millport’ with the CAPA team (CAPA – Care About Physical Activity) which is recognised by the Care Inspectorate as good practice.
Boclair works hard to enable residents with their mobility and risk enablement, and this virtual experience supports residents in a number of ways, including their physical and mental health.
We look forward to enjoying more of the sunny weather and seeing what the rest of the summer holds for us here at Boclair Care Home.
