Scottish Fiddle Orchestra Performance at Paisley Town Hall

On the 28th of September, our residents at Boclair Care Home in Glasgow were treated to an unforgettable experience as special guests of the Scottish Fiddle Orchestra. We had the privilege of attending a private rehearsal before their much-anticipated performance later that evening at Paisley Town Hall. This exclusive opportunity was made even more meaningful, as we were one of only two care homes invited to the event.

Led by the talented conductor Blair Parham, the Scottish Fiddle Orchestra has been at the forefront of traditional Scottish music for over 40 years. They are often described as "Scotland’s leading fiddle orchestra" and have performed at major concert halls across Scotland, England, Northern Ireland, and even toured internationally to places such as North America, Australia, New Zealand, and China. This particular concert marked their first time performing at Paisley Town Hall, making it an even more special occasion for our residents.

During the rehearsal, our residents enjoyed an intimate preview of the world-class entertainment that was later set to charm the audience. The afternoon was filled with lively reels, jigs, strathspeys, and marches, as well as beautiful slow airs, all of which showcased the extraordinary talent of the orchestra. It was a fantastic afternoon away from the care home, allowing our residents to soak in the vibrancy and energy of traditional Scottish music in a unique setting.
