What Does an All-Inclusive Care Home Mean?

Afternoon Tea

According to carehome.co.uk, how much you will pay for your care depends on where you live, what type of care you need, your savings and property and the care home provider. When you move into a care home, it is recommended to check what is covered by the fee. Some care homes charge extra for services such as hairdressing and toiletries.

Being aware of all the costs will help you plan your budget and ensure that there will be no surprises on your invoice.

Whether or not care home fees are all-inclusive depends on the care home. Typically, the items and services listed below are regularly included in a weekly care home fee:

What is typically included within Care Home fees?

  • Professional Care
  • Accommodation
  • Food & Drink
  • Laundry
  • Communal Sanitary Items
  • In-House Activities

What is included within All-Inclusive Care Home fees?

When it comes to Care Homes that offer an all-inclusive way of living, everything day to day is included in the weekly fee. From laundry and housekeeping services, to cut and blow hair appointments, to local day trips and even having family and friends join you for a slice of cake and a cup of tea.

The key benefit of living in an all-inclusive residential home is that residents are still supported no matter what life throws their way, and they are able to continue living their life the way that they want to, with plenty of opportunities to pursue their hobbies and interests.

Peace of Mind

When moving into a new home, residents and their loved ones need certainty and security. From our experience, "billable extras" are an unnecessary irritation. When everything is included in an inclusive fee, it provides peace of mind and freedom to utilise the facilities and amenities available. An all-inclusive care home allows residents can enjoy that glass of wine or beer with their meal, embrace the pampering and regular hair treatments in the in-house salon or enjoy the regular entertainment that visits the home.

As the cost of living continues to rise at an alarming rate, a Care Home can provide peace of mind to help combat the stresses of household management, including paying for bills. According to the BBC, energy bills are one of the biggest contributors to inflation. The Bank of England has warned that UK inflation could reach a staggering 11% by autumn 2022. Living in a Care Home will provide reassurance and take away the worries that people will naturally feel as the winter approaches.

Paying for Residential Care

According to Age UK, if you are eligible for funding support, your local council must calculate the overall cost of your care. With this information and through using the means test, how much you have to contribute from your financial resources can be determined. How you pay care home fees will differ from person to person and we recommend contacting your local council initially, who will help guide you to a financial assessment and offer advice on how much you can be expected to pay.
